Rent-to-own News - D&H offers exclusive JVC displays through AmTran
Computer and consumer electronics distributor D&H Distributing would like to invite RTO store owners and dealers to visit booth #304 at the TRIB Show in Las Vegas August 29 to 31.
Just in time for the show, the distributor is proud to announce it has signed with AmTRAN Video Corporation™ as the exclusive distributor of this vendor’s new BlackCrystal series of JVC HDTVs.
The series, which had a US pre-launch in early July, boasts HDTV quality plus exceptional sound capabilities. The BlackCrystal models include LCD and E-LED panels in dimensions of 32, 37, 42 and 47 inches. AmTRAN Video Corporation plans to introduce additional models to the US market under the JVC brand later this year, including larger-screen displays with Internet-connected and 3D HDTV capabilities.
“We’re excited to be the distributor to help introduce these new JVC models to the RTO marketplace,” said John Alifano, director of D&H’s Consumer Products Division. “AmTRAN Video Corporation has a terrific reputation for innovative designs in the flat panel arena. These models represent a high-quality, competitively-priced option in the field of HDTVs.”
Efficient shipping: D&H provides one- to two-day parcel shipping to most of the US through its four fully-stocked US warehouse locations, plus drop-ship and custom shipping capabilities. Favorable credit terms: The distributor offers versatile financing programs, including flexible flooring options and inventory financing.

Who Is Your Competition? by Bill Keese In order to expand your customer base, you can learn a lot by observing your competitors. But first, you need to figure out just who they are. If you think your only competition is the rent-to-own store down the street, you’re not considering the bigger picture. APRO’s executive director offers a big-picture perspective.
A Review of Online Customer Complaints by Ed Winn III While rent-to-own companies have not cornered the market on negative reviews posted on consumer complaint websites, it’s no surprise that there are cyberspace beefs against RTO. APRO’s general counsel reviews some of them in search of a pattern and he considers appropriate response to online complaints.
Rent-to-Own Families, Part VIII by Kristen Card Our series of family-run rent-to-own businesses continues with profiles of the Homeiers in Kansas and two Texas-based sets of kindred colleagues, the Spangles and the Weisblatts.
