Rent-to-own News - Premier announces 'Partners in Profitability' retreat

April 21, 2011

The Premier Companies is proud and excited to announce the 2011 Premier Dealer Retreat – “Partners in Profitability” -- will take place August 19-21, 2011 at the Gaylord Texan Hotel in Grapevine, Texas.

"To be able to thrive in today’s diverse and challenging environment, extensive training for our dealers and for our dealers' teammates is more important than ever for the success of our businesses," said Trooper Earle, Premier President and CEO. "Our Dealer Retreat provides an opportunity for our dealers to come together with an educational program in place where they will be provided knowledge and proven strategies to improve their business."

In keeping with its doers make the best teachers philosophy, many discussions will be led by Premier dealers themselves who excel in the key areas  necessary for a rental business to succeed.

“We will focus on areas that, if addressed correctly, will lead to a profitable business,”Earle said.

This year’s dealer retreat theme will be  “Partners in Profitability” and will be  held two days prior to Nationwide’s Rent Direct Buying Show. This will provide Premier dealers the convenience of participating in both events.

“To bring our dealers together at this key time of the year is essential to their business.” Earle said. “We view ourselves as true partners with our dealers. We will continue to be committed to assisting our dealers in all ways possible to enhance their success.

John Darden, Premiers Franchise/Vendor Liaison,  urged Premier dealers to mark their calendars in order to take advantage of the best opportunity to prepare for the year's busiest quarter.

“The Nationwide Buying Show provides our dealers the opportunity to meet one on one with leading product and support vendors," Darden said. "It also makes it possible for our dealers, who are members of the Nationwide Buying Group and the Premier Purchasing Co-Op, to take advantage of the show discounts, rebates and cash backs. This is a must buying show for all who can attend.”

The national office of The Premier Companies is located in Williamsburg, Virginia. Premier Brands consist of Premier Rental-Purchase, Premier Home Furnishings, Premier Wheel Workz, Premier Auto by Rent. All Premier stores are independently owned and operated. Who Is Your Competition?

by Bill Keese

In order to expand your customer base, you can learn a lot by observing your competitors. But first, you need to figure out just who they are. If you think your only competition is the rent-to-own store down the street, you’re not considering the bigger picture. APRO’s executive director offers a big-picture perspective.

A Review of Online Customer Complaints

by Ed Winn III

While rent-to-own companies have not cornered the market on negative reviews posted on consumer complaint websites, it’s no surprise that there are cyberspace beefs against RTO. APRO’s general counsel reviews some of them in search of a pattern and he considers appropriate response to online complaints.
